Education Day Session
On March 14th, I will be visiting and learning about Buffalo Public Schools and Charter Schools with Leadership Buffalo Class of 2018. This should be a very interesting day as it happens to be the National School Walkout Day - so Students could very well walk out during our tour.
Our Objectives for the day are:
1. Explore how Buffalo schools are preparing students for success beyond the classroom: both individually, and as a group.
2. Learn what is being presented to students for planning beyond high school.
a. Explore what vocational programs are available to students who opt not to take a “traditional” college or military path.
3. Understand the similarities, differences, and challenges of public and charter schools.
4. Learn what support services exist for students who have social, emotional, developmental, or other needs that go beyond the classroom.
Check back in a few days as I recap what I learned during the Education Day.
